At Supply Plus, sustainability is not an add‑on to our business - it is a core responsibility and an essential part of how we operate within the Lagercrantz Group International Division. We recognise that long-term success is achieved only when business growth, environmental protection and social value move forward together.

Guided by the UK Government Net Zero policies, the Paris Climate Accord and the Lagercrantz Group Sustainability Vision, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact, operating responsibly, and contributing positively to the communities we serve. Our journey is continually evolving as we strengthen our practices, invest in better technologies, and collaborate across the wider Group to raise standards each year.
Our Sustainability Journey
Sustainability at Supply Plus starts with a simple belief: what we make, how we make it, and how we support our customers should create long-term value without compromising the planet.
Across our business - from lifesaving specialised safety components to life-sustaining industrial products - we apply a structured approach inspired by the Lagercrantz sustainability priorities:
- Climate responsibility & emissions reduction
- Circular and resource-efficient material use
- Responsible supply chains
- Employee wellbeing & safe working environments
- Ethical, transparent operations
As part of the International Division, we learn from fellow Group companies, adopting common standards and sharing expertise in environmental management and product responsibility.
Our Environmental Credentials
We are continually investing in practices and certifications that demonstrate our commitment to sustainable operations:
- ISO 14001 Environmental Management System
- CBAM (EU & UK Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism) readiness and reporting
- Product-level carbon foot printing
- Net Zero policy and annual progress reviews
- Reduce – Reuse – Recycle programme
- Products made from recyclable materials (including UK-extruded aluminium)
- Operational energy efficiency measures
These credentials ensure our work aligns with internationally recognised standards and reflects our commitment to continuous improvement.
Our 3Rs' Initiative
Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.
Our long‑standing 3Rs commitment is central to reducing our environmental footprint and forms a key part of how we design, source, manufacture, and manage materials.
Reduce
We reduce material use, waste, and energy consumption wherever possible by:
- Using remelt aluminium, where appropriate which requires only 20% of the energy compared to virgin aluminium.
- Designing robust, long‑life products to minimise replacement cycles.
- All of our +AS Fire & Safety aluminium ladders are reparable, thereby lowering their total impact if they are damaged.
- Streamlining processes to avoid unnecessary consumption of raw materials, packaging, and energy.
Reuse
We prioritise reuse over recycling wherever viable:
- Selecting components and materials designed for extended life or repurposing.
- Reviewing packaging and shipping methods with suppliers to incorporate reusable solutions.
- Encouraging suppliers to adopt reusable or returnable packaging streams.
Recycle
For materials that reach end‑of‑life, we ensure they can be responsibly recycled:
- Most ladder components—including stiles, rungs, fasteners, springs, and rubber parts—can be fully recycled.
- All aluminium, steel, and stainless-steel raw materials used in the production of our products, i.e. hose reels, ladders and beam gantries, are recyclable and sourced responsibly.
- We work exclusively with approved waste contractors to ensure all waste materials are handled correctly and recycled where practicable.
This approach supports a circular economy, reduces landfill waste, and strengthens our long-term sustainability position.
Our 3P Sustainability Theme
People. Planet. Profit.
Supply Plus’ sustainability approach sits firmly within the 3P philosophy that guides the company:
People
We support a safe, inclusive, and responsible workplace:
- Strong links to local and national community through charitable organisations such as Circus Starr and Fire Fighters’ Charity as well as supporting other local events and industry specific development programmes such as Women in the Fire Service, Antarctic Fire Angels and other charities.
- Continuous environmental and safety training for all employees.
- A culture that encourages staff to raise concerns, identify improvements, and act sustainably in their roles.
Our vision for People is:
Create an inspiring atmosphere where every individual is motivated to reach their full potential, actively contributing to the seamless operation and success of our business.
Planet
We act to reduce environmental impact:
- Lowering emissions through material choices and efficient manufacturing.
- Reducing waste through the 3Rs programme.
- Monitoring and improving our environmental performance year on year via a dedicated Planet Group Environmental team.
Our vision for Planet is:

- Ethical business conduct, aligned with Group standards.
- Sustainable product innovation, ensuring longevity, compliance, and value for customers.
- Responsible procurement that strengthens supply chain resilience.
Our Commitments
Reducing Our Carbon Footprint
We aim to lower emissions across our operations through cleaner processes, remelt metals, efficient machinery, and future investment in renewable energy sources.
Transparency of Our Impact – CBAM Compliance

In line with both EU and UK CBAM regulations, we are working towards comprehensive emissions reporting for all affected imported products.
See the latest CBAM update here.
Responsible Sourcing
We assess suppliers based on their environmental performance, sustainability credentials, and transparency. Recycled, recyclable, and sustainably sourced materials are prioritised across product groups.
Waste Management and Circularity
We actively minimise waste, promote recycling, and integrate circular economy principles into product design, material choices, and end‑of‑life strategies.
Continuous Improvement
Our Sustainability team oversee compliance, risk mitigation, audits, and performance tracking. We set annual targets and work with Group companies to stay aligned with emerging best practices.
Partnering for a Sustainable Future
Sustainability is most effective when built collaboratively. We work closely with customers, suppliers, and community partners to develop solutions that benefit everyone involved.
Whether through low‑carbon materials, responsible supply chain initiatives, or transparent carbon reporting, we aim to support our partners on their own sustainability journeys. Together, we can deliver meaningful, lasting change.
