Supply Plus Ltd would like to congratulate Karen Hull and Kaylea Jackson on their fantastic achievement in completing the Jurassic Coast Mighty Hike on 15th June 2019, walking 26.6 miles raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support, a charity they are both familiar with. There was a team of five, Karen Hull and her friend Fiona. Kaylea Jackson with her brother Stephen and niece Erin. The total amount raised by the five of them was: £3,333.00
Karen Hull commented: “Absolutely thrilled to have completed the challenge, coming 795,796,797,798 and 795 out of 2217 participants. Will definitely consider taking on another challenge next year”.
Kaylea Jackson commented: “It took 11 hours and 25 minutes to complete, not quite the 8 hours I had anticipated. No amount of training could have prepared me for the epic cliff line we faced. It was an emotional day but the ever changing scenery & team spirit kept us all going, we all finished with a great sense of achievement”.
We are delighted to announce that we have completed a Management Buy Out (MBO) of Supply Plus Limited effective from the 1st April 2019 to create a position where the
complete ownership of the business is now 100% with the senior management team and fully UK based.
Supply Plus Limited manufacture a range of products, from our Cambridge UK base, primarily for the Fire & Rescue, Fuel Delivery and Cable management markets under the AS Fire & Rescue, Collins Youldon and Bayley brands.
Outside our primary UK market we have exported to over 40 countries in the past 12 months with our UK team of over 60 staff.
We now expect to embark upon a further period of stability and critical focus on our core customers to deliver their immediate requirements.
The MBO team are:
This is an exciting step forward as part of a continuing journey for our business.
We face new challenges as we move forward to further increase quality, synchronise our lead times to match those required in specific sectors, refine our existing products
and complete the development of a range of new products already well underway.
We can see many transformational changes that will be required to meet our markets evolving needs; to achieve this we need to be even more aligned to our customers to
provide the correct solutions.
‘We pride ourselves not only on our innovation but also our adaptability and determination,’ Derek Gotts explains. ‘A business that stands still can expect less satisfied customers and more aggressive competition; which is why we seek to expand our products and services, along with our own team and their knowledge’

Derek Gotts, Managing Director of Supply Plus was invited to the launch and proud to witness the launch of the new vehicles that were supporting Supply Plus manufactured Ladders, Hose Reels, Beam Gantries and Shutters.
The new appliances have been jointly procured by both Services who put together a standard appliance profile based around the best specification elements from all six FRS’ in the Eastern Region. While Essex and Bedfordshire went ahead together to begin the procurement process the other four Services contributed to the specification making this a truly regional specification that could be adopted in any of the Services in the region.
The vehicles have been described as “much needed and an extremely useful addition to both the Services’ fleet”.
The collaborative partnership working, not just between Bedfordshire and Essex, but with all the regional Services has created a fire appliance which includes cutting edge technology and innovations to make firefighting both more effective and safer for Firefighters.
Their flexibility reflects the wide range of work Firefighting crews carry out and they provide an excellent response capability which can deal with a huge range of incidents and emergencies.

The AS Fire & Rescue Equipment Division of Supply Plus Ltd has developed and manufactured a unique Beam Gantry System for Royal Berkshire F&R which carries four 8ft standard suction hoses.
Due to the high vehicle, roof length restrictions and loading height of the Particular fire appliance, a counterweight system was developed in conjunction with the Variable velocity hydraulic damper and adjustable stop gantry system. This system allows the smooth deployment and stowage of the gantry, without compromising on the safety of the user.
And because the system is adjustable, it can be set for specific fire personnel operational requirements, if required in the future.
We have also developed an outboard stabiliser roller system within the pivot to reduce the sideways movements of the gantry and to assist and support the rollers housed on the vehicle roof.
The potential of this system is huge as it opens the door for other ancillary equipment, which is usually stowed within the inside of the vehicle, to be safely housed on the roof
