+Collins Youldon Products - Inspection Hatches & Manlids

UKIFDA Expo 2026

Inspection and access lids / hatches (manlids) play a crucial role in enabling the safe and responsible operation of tankers. Whether they be for liquid energy distribution (fuel oil, diesel, gasoil, etc), firefighting (water, foam concentrates), or a raft of other liquids such as – but not limited to - foodstuffs, fertilisers, industrial chemicals or solvents. They can also serve to keep unauthorised access at bay while allowing easy access for inspection and maintenance tasks.

Key Applications

  • Fire industry - for inspection and / or access to foam or water tanks (Style 42VM or 42VM)
  • Bulk handling - for the tops of silos for grain, powders, such as e.g. flour (Style 42M / 40VM)
  • Bitumen industry - for filling and inspection of tankers (Style 46A)
  • Fuel (Style 50A)
  • Offshore - for inspection and filling of foam tanks for fire protection (Style 42A)
  • Water- for bowsers in construction for toilet facilities, etc. washdown (not potable water) for hygienic applications (Style 40A, Style 42A)

The +Collins Youldon range of inspection and access lids provides safe, reliable access for filling, inspection and maintenance of non‑pressurised tanks and silos. Model options designed for welding directly into the tank shell are available - these inspection and access hatches eliminate the need for adaptor flanges and are available with or without integrated pressure relief. With multiple aperture sizes, materials and pressure settings available, we can offer flexible solutions for industrial, fuel, and liquid storage applications.
